The art of mosaic-making, known as zellige, is a centuries-old tradition and a symbol of Moroccan craftsmanship. This technique not only shaped Morocco, but also the architecture and culture of Al-Andalus, medieval Islamic Spain, and is an expression of the close cultural and artistic ties between these regions. Zellige mosaics, consisting of hand-cut, geometric ceramic tiles, decorated palaces, mosques and gardens. The technique has been passed down for generations and still adorns walls, floors, mosaic tables and mosaic fountainIn 2016, Zellige was registered by Morocco with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to protect its cultural significance. Colors and shapes of the Mosaics often have deep symbolic meanings.

In mosaic tables, the table top is made of artfully assembled hand-cut tiles on a stable concrete base. The table frame is usually made of hand-forged iron. The art of blacksmithing, also deeply rooted in Moroccan tradition, ensures robust, long-lasting structures. The hand-made iron frames are carefully shaped, often with decorative, curved elements that harmoniously complement the fine mosaic pattern of the table top.
