A diamond edge is typical for a Moroccan mosaic table. In addition to its decorative function, it also has a symbolic function: as stylized eyes (witch's eyes), square diamonds are supposed to protect people from all kinds of misfortune. The mosaic makers place a wide variety of patterns and ornaments in this frame. One thing is always the same, however: the glazed mosaic pieces are first cut out of the hand-crafted Zellige tiles Each table top is entirely hand-crafted and therefore absolutely unique.
At the bistro table Ankabut The joints between the individual mosaic pieces are clearly visible. This is intentional, as the craftsmen had the artfully woven web of a spider (Ankabut) in mind when designing it. Alternatively, the design is reminiscent of fireworks unfolding magnificently in the sky. The color green can be found in this mosaic table in three very different shades: emerald green, light green and turquoise. Depending on your mood, you can dream of shady forests, lush green meadows or oceans near the equator.
